The passenger port “APOSTOLOS PAVLOS” is surrounded by the city and until 2002 it was the central point of maritime transport in the wider region of Kavala.

The development of the city of Kavala made the construction of a new modern port, “Filippos Β’”, east of the city (NeaKarvali) necessary, with direct connection to the EgnatiaOdos.

The port of Keramoti is the closest point to Thassos, from which the biggest part of the passengers’ and goods’ transports to and from the island is carried out.

The port of Eleftheres is situated west of Kavala and serves the bulk cargo transport, the fishing fleet and tourism.
